Partnering Overview
Partnering is a key aspect of Astex's platform-to-product business model.
The Company has already established or successfully concluded collaborations, across a wide range of therapeutic areas, with a stable of leading pharmaceutical companies including Astellas Pharma, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Johnson & Johnson, Mitsubishi Pharma, Novartis, sanofi-aventis and Schering AG.
Astex actively reviews its partnering strategy with respect to its in-house oncology drug candidates, in addition to expanding its roster of early stage drug discovery collaborations.
Astex has also established a licensing programme around its cytochrome P450 intellectual property. Pfizer was announced as the first licensee during 2006.
